The first time you walk through our doors someone will greet and welcome you to our church. In fact, many others will greet and welcome you also. It is easy for us because we also had ‘our first visit.’ We try to never forget the anxiety we felt that ‘first time.’ We understand that all of us had to start somewhere, at some time. We also understand that we are still not perfect; we all need more and more of God to grow to become more like Him. Everyone of us are on our journey and none of us are at the same place in our spiritual travels. And that is why we gather together to share and grow in God’s kingdom. Every service starts with a prayer welcoming the presence of Jesus Christ into our service. Without Him, the service is nothing more than a gathering of people. With Him there is no limit to the possibilities that can happen.

The second thing we do is read from God’s word. The combination of God’s Spirit and His Word creates an atmosphere for anything to happen; miracles, forgiveness, salvation, encouragement, whatever the need is… God knows and will supply when we submit to Him.

Next comes our “Worship and Praise.” We are called TRUTH TABERNACLE for a reason. The name is exactly what we do, Worship and Praise in TRUTH. ‘Worship’ is what we do because of whom He is; Holy, Righteous, Truth, Everlasting, All-powerful, All-knowing, and many other qualities too numerous to name. Praise is what we give because of what He does for us; giving us strength, His Holy Spirit, love, salvation, forgiveness, encouragement… you get the picture, too numerous to name.

These two acts give God the glory He deserves and prepares us to receive His many gifts.

The worship and praise is part of ALL the service and is accelerated during our singing. The Psalmist says in chapter 57:7, “I will sing and give praise.” Music is wonderful, but alone it does not compare to lifting up our hearts in Praise and Worship to experience the Holy, mighty presence of God as individuals.

You will also notice that during this time of Worship many will ‘bring’ their Tithes and/or Offerings to the offering basket on the altar. This is also an important part of Worship. Don’t worry or be embarrassed if you cannot participate, everything is a growing process and we truly understand.

The preaching, or teaching, of God’s Word is one of the most important parts of the service. The Scripture tells us in I Cor. 1:21 “….it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.” Just remember, it is not the messenger as much as it is the message, and the Message is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Every sermon or Bible Study is designed to make this wonderful message from God applicable to this modern age with all its’ complexities and problems…. just like the expression, “where the rubber meets the road.”

You might hear “Hallelujah,” “Praise be to God,” or “Amen” anytime during the service. These are expressions to others and to God of your involvement of Worship, adoration of God and Praise. Again, don’t feel pressured to give your expression of outward praise, it will happen in its own time.

At the end of the sermon/lesson, there is an opportunity to pray and ask God for your specific need to be answered. Sometimes what we think is our greatest need is not always what God knows is our greatest need. Take the time to let Him talk to your heart to show you your greatest need. You will be glad you did.

See, you made it through your first service at TRUTH TABERNACLE. We hope it was a wonderful experience, not complicated, and remember, there is no wrong way to worship. After all, everyone’s experience is a little different.

YOUR FAMILY NEEDS CHURCH!
Our nation and society stands, or falls, on the spiritual strength of our homes. However, no structure or system is more sound than that upon which it is built. There is no foundation that will support a home like a relationship with Jesus Christ and His church.

Every family needs the wholesome influence of a spiritual, ‘Bible-believing’ assembly. Less than ½ of 1% of the young people who attend church regularly ever have a court record. At church, you meet the best people of your community. Your family needs this association.

It also needs to be established in confident faith. Man must rest his faith in something. The object of that faith must prove to be worthy, capable, good and helpful in every sense of the word. No one qualifies for this except Jesus. Through worship and Bible instruction at TRUTH TABERNACLE, your family will be led to a personal faith in God.

Parental responsibility demands that we impart to our children a quality of character that will guide them into honest and productive lives. Getting them to their knees may be infinitely more important than getting them to college. If they are lost, their lives ruined, or bring shame to your home, who will be to blame? Will they have been cast into the proper mold?

the greatest necessity of all is that of being ‘needed and loved,’ an emptiness that can never be completely filled until Jesus Christ is an active part of your living. Become involved and find God’s place for you as you grow with us.

And you are witnesses of these things. Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”

Acts 1:8 (NKJV) “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

We also help support missionaries that can go into the other parts of the world to preach this precious message of Jesus Christ. It is our intent to be ‘The Light for Jesus Christ’ in the San Jacinto Valley and share what God has done for each of us with the washing away of our sins and filling us with His Spirit.

It is NOT what we do, but what He does through us.
